OFF FOR MEXICO

Party of Greer County Citizens Left Tuesday Morning for Land of Montezuma.

INTERESTED IN COLONY

Blalock Caught the Mexico Fever and Has Infected Many of His Friends - Will Be Gone About Two Weeks.

A party of six of Greer County's prominent citizens left Tuesday morning to investigate the advantages of Mr. Blalock's proposition to organize a colony of fifty families to move to Mexico and purchase a grant of land. Mr. Blalock holds an option on 110,000 acres which will expire in a short time. He has many people interested in his proposition, and will no doubt secure the number of families he and others agree are necessary to make a successful venture of the move; to support a church, school, etc., and to furnish a little society as well as obviate the necessity of mixing with the laws and associating with the people of that country.

Those who left Tuesday were G.E. Blalock, W.T. Dodson, G.B. Townsend, W.R. Derr, Jim Cleary, and Mr. Young. They will be gone about two weeks.
