LEARN about the individuals who originally joined George E. Blalock and became part of the Blalock Mexico Colony from 1902-1903. They were by and large from Greer County, Oklahoma Territory. The men were businessmen, farmers and ranchers. Some had held elected positions such sheriff, constable, bailiff and weigher. There was also a doctor, blacksmith and a minister among them. Many of the gentlemen were married, but a few were bachelors and they were all respected citizens in their communities. The women included wives, mothers, and single adult daughters. These diverse and talented individuals all scarified much to build a new life in Mexico.

FIND colonists that arrived in Chamal from 1903 - 1920. The Heads of Household list includes 180 men and women. Some on the list are original colonists that emigrated to Chamal in 1903-1904. Others on the list came later from Oklahoma, Texas and other parts of the United States. Many of the names that appear on this list were found on a list generated by George E. Blalock in 1903, as the first wave of emigrants traveled to Mexico. Other names were found in the 1912 American Consulate Inventory of American owned property values in the Tampico, Mexico Consular district and the 1908 - 1913 Certificates of Registration of American Citizens registered with the American Consulate in Tampico, Mexico.

MEET the founding fathers of the Blalock Mexico Colony. They include individuals like George E. Blalock, Wesley Ricks, George T. Ingram J. L. Sweet, Samuel C. Tally, C. C. Rogers, W. O. Byers, Joe Miller, M. L. Childress, George R. Moore and G. B. Palmer.

LOCATE your ancestor(s). Review the lists of descendants, those who lived/live in Chamal and those descendants of colonist who never lived in Chamal.

CONTRIBUTE additional information about any of the people who were/are part of this experience. Provide documents and photographs that help to tell a fuller story of their lives.
