The Images section contains photographs from a variety of sources including individual photographic collections, museums, legal documents, and the National Archives. The photographs span a time period of more than 100 years. Included are photographs of original colonists such as the colony’s namesake, George E. Blalock.
Photographs of individual people may include many different time periods and span the lifetime of the individual. There are many views of the Chamal Valley and landscape. A variety of structures were built by the colonists over many years and these images document the improvements made on church and school structures. The colony had many activities and children attended one of two schools built within the colony. Men often gathered to jointly hunt game and many exotic animals are pictured. The colony had a baseball team and there were many church and social gatherings. The colonists raised many types of livestock and crops and these may be seen in an assortment of photographs. |
