Stories title

The Blalock Mexico Colony saga has been kept alive for over 100 years through countless stories, both oral and written, told by original colonists and their descendants. These stories describe daily life, childhood jaunts and activities, school days, hunting and fishing trips, mountain trips, church socials, dances, weddings and other memorable events. There are vivid stories about life in and around Chamal during the Revolution of 1910-1920. These stories contribute to knowledge of our ancestors' lives and times by adding the smells, sounds, colors, landscapes, emotions and impressions of life in the Blalock Mexico Colony.

Do you have a story you can share? If you do, please write it down, draw or find pictures to illustrate it, and share it with the rest of us who long to know more of how these people lived.

Here is an image of two men holding sticks or perhaps one has a shovel. There seems to be a cloud of smoke billowing around them. Is that a tall white pillar of smoke in the center? What are they doing? Answering that question correctly can enlighten us, help us to better understand how our ancestors lived. Read a story about cooking piloncillo by Mary Taylor Dolge.
